The debate was the first ever Leaders debate during a UK General Election campaign, and the pollsters are giving it as a big victory for Nick Clegg and the Liberal Democrats.

Mike said: "I was shocked to read the Council's Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment which suggests that the village might accommodate another 950 homes. The village clearly could not cope with such growth and the level of developer's contributions would not be adequate to rectify major infrastructure problems in and around the village. In any case much of the land is unsuitable due to its frequent flooding."

Over 9,300 new debt problems are dealt with by the CAB each day. Mike said: "Our Liberal Democrat Priorities include fairer taxes, sustainable jobs and fair and clean politics. Mike said "Instead of me commenting at length, I feel it is important to give the people of Godalming a say in local issues. That's why I have been interviewing and getting local reactions to these important plans"

If it goes ahead, the decision, which is subject to the approval of Parliament and which the Authority is proposing to challenge by means of a judicial review, will mean that the Authority will have to return £1.6m to council taxpayers but will incur further costs of £1.2m in so doing.
